In the gold ore beneficiation production line, crushing equipment undertakes the important tasks of reducing and homogenizing ore particles. According to different crushing stages and functions, common gold ore crushing equipment is mainly divided into primary crushing equipment, secondary crushing equipment, tertiary crushing equipment, as well as auxiliary screening and feeding equipment. These equipment work together to form a complete crushing system.
Primary crushing equipment mainly handles large raw ore from mining. The jaw crusher is the most commonly used machine for gold ore primary crushing. It features simple structure, reliable operation and strong compression resistance, capable of crushing high-strength ore. It is suitable for various types of gold ore, especially hard quartz-vein gold ore. The jaw crusher crushes ore through the relative movement of the moving jaw and fixed jaw, with large crushing ratio, uniform discharge size, convenient maintenance and low operating cost, making it the preferred choice for gold ore primary crushing.
The commonly used secondary crushing equipment is the cone crusher. Cone crushers are suitable for secondary and tertiary crushing of medium-hard and hard ores. They adopt the lamination crushing principle, producing excellent particle shape with little over-crushing. Compared with jaw crushers, cone crushers have larger capacity and smoother operation, ideal for continuous large-scale production. In the gold ore process, it further reduces particle size after primary crushing and prepares for fine crushing.

Tertiary crushing equipment is also dominated by cone crushers, especially short-head cone crushers, which provide a larger crushing ratio and finer, more uniform product size that directly meets the feeding size for grinding. For some small and medium-sized gold mines, impact crushers may also be used, but mostly for brittle ores, with relatively limited application in hard gold ore.
Auxiliary equipment is also indispensable. Vibrating feeders provide uniform and continuous feeding to prevent ore impact and blockage. Circular vibrating screens are used for classification, ensuring only qualified ore enters the next stage, serving as key equipment for closed-circuit crushing. Belt conveyors transport materials between equipment, realizing continuous process flow.
Equipment selection varies for different types of gold ore. General-purpose equipment can be used for oxidized and easily broken ore. For quartz-vein and hard-to-break gold ore, jaw crushers and cone crushers with high compression resistance and good wear resistance are preferred.
Reasonable selection of gold ore crushing equipment improves crushing efficiency, reduces energy consumption, extends equipment service life, and provides strong support for stable operation of the entire beneficiation line.
