Most traditional copper processing plants have been operating for many years, featuring outdated process layouts, aging equipment, low automation, unstable beneficiation indicators, high energy consumption and serious resource waste. In order to adapt to modern mining efficiency requirements and environmental protection standards, systematic renovation and technical upgrading have become necessary for old copper concentrators. A scientific and targeted transformation plan can effectively increase copper recovery rate, reduce operating costs and extend the service life of the entire plant.
The first core of the renovation is process optimization. Many old copper plants adopt single mixed flotation flow, which cannot effectively separate copper and sulfur, resulting in low concentrate grade and high metal loss. The upgrading solution optimizes the original flotation circuit by adopting preferential flotation or semi-preferential flotation technology. By adjusting grinding fineness, optimizing reagent system and upgrading roughing, scavenging and cleaning stages, the separation efficiency of copper and gangue minerals is significantly improved. For ores with high oxidation rate and complex symbiosis, adding independent fine flotation units can effectively solve the problem of insufficient sorting time and incomplete mineral dissociation.

The second part is equipment renewal and efficiency upgrade. Old ball mills, crushers and flotation cells have low processing efficiency and poor stability. The transformation replaces inefficient traditional equipment with high-precision crushing and closed-circuit grinding systems to ensure uniform particle size and full mineral dissociation. New-type flotation machines with large air intake and stable stirring performance are adopted to improve flotation stability. Meanwhile, outdated power and water supply systems are upgraded to reduce energy consumption and equipment failure rate.
The third key upgrade is intelligent and environmental transformation. Traditional manual operation leads to unstable production parameters and large indicator fluctuations. The upgraded plant is equipped with automatic monitoring systems for pulp density, pH value and reagent dosage, realizing real-time data adjustment and stable production. In addition, tailings water recycling and dust removal systems are optimized to meet international environmental protection standards. Through comprehensive renovation, old copper concentrators can achieve higher recovery rate, lower consumption and more stable long-term production benefits.
The processing of zircon sand primarily relies on physical separation, utilising differences in mineral density, magnetic properties and electrical properties to achieve step-by-step purification. The process flow is well-established and highly environmentally friendly, making it a typical example of sand ore beneficiation.
Chromite beneficiation primarily employs a combined gravity and magnetic separation process, which is currently the most mature and efficient technical approach. The complete workflow encompasses crushing and screening, washing and desliming, gravity roughing, magnetic cleaning, and concentrate dewatering.
